Female flowers – with showy, silky white hairs – abound on female saltbushes (Baccharis halminifolia). Saltbush, also know as sea myrtle or groundsel tree, is dioecious: Female & male flowers occur on different plants. Flowering on saltbush is a sure sign of Fall.
The grey-green leaves of this plant are variable in shape, and many of them are toothed.
