This outing led by Ken Gonyo will be the traditional North ORCA walk beginning at Audubon House, 195 9th Street SE (Oslo Road) starting at 9:00 a.m., and traversing through various habitats and culminating at the wetland overlook. Habitats include mesic hammock, scrubby flatwoods, hydric hammock, and impounded wetlands.
This is a great opportunity to see ORCA with knowledgeable guides.
Be advised: Participants should wear sturdy footwear suitable for hiking through possible dew-soaked grass and other conditions on an unpaved nature trail. The participants are advised to bring a hat for protection from the Sun, insect repellant, and a bottle of drinking water along with binoculars for bird watching. Restrooms are available at Audubon House. There is parking at Audubon House and at the North ORCA parking lot across the street or you may also park along the South side of Oslo Road.
