Pelican Island Audubon ORCA Campers Hike to ORCA Tower

The Pelican Island Audubon ORCA Campers hiked the north ORCA trail out to the observation tower on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.  The kids really enjoyed the habitat changes and noticed the changes in temperature.  They saw lots of butterflies in the oak hammock along with learning about the plants and wildlife from their guide, Pelican Island Audubon environmental educator Katheryne Nix assisted by Donna Halleran.  Enjoying some relaxation time at the observation tower, they let their shadows wave hello in the water below until finally posing by one of ORCA’s many oak trees on their way back to Audubon House.
