Peli enjoyed exploring the Donald MacDonald County Park & Campground on the Sebastian River in northern Indian River County. She picked a primitive campsite nestled in the low native brush. Some of the sites have electricity. All the sites have water, fire pits and picnic tables, perfect for her small tent. Peli and her friends will be camping out during the holiday season to enjoy the cool evenings. Many sites sit among saw palmettos and live oak trees. It’s a beautiful area that looks like old Florida.
Peli followed a sandy nature trail to an observation boardwalk, and hopes to put her kayak in the water at the boat launch. She can’t wait for her friends to arrive, so she can explore further and have another outdoor adventure.
Peli’s challenge will be ending soon. December 9th will be her final day. A Bingo Game at the Audubon House will give people the opportunity to meet Peli and have your picture taken. If you join in the fun, you may just win some prizes! Peli hopes you can join in on Saturday, Dec. 9th from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. In the meantime, Peli will enjoy her camping experience and looking forward to making s’mores!
